Hey everyone, just wanted to do a quick update on Addy. We have been struggling with short term memory loss and some cognitive delay issues. We went to St Louis for her yearly checkup a couple weeks ago. They have decided to see her every three months after her MRI to keep a closer watch on her. So we will be going back in January after her December scan. Addy also had an EEG and had seizure activity. They have decided to do a 3 day inpatient EEG to try to catch a full seizure episode. We hope to be able to get her on the right meds to be able to control her seizures. Thank you all for continuing to pray for Addy. We appreciate it so very much!

Hello everyone! I wanted to share something with you all that is very important to us. Over and over I have questioned if this is what we should do but God keeps confirming that this is what we should be doing again and again!
As most of you know we have been supplying the snacks for the patients and their families at the Vanderbilt Children's Oncology Clinic for almost 2 years. We have only been able to do this with the help of friends, family, and the people of our community. We could not have made it this far with out you all!!
We are ready to take this farther and become The Addyson Clark Foundation. For us to to consistently provide the snacks we will need to become a non profit. Becoming a non-profit with 501 (c)3 status would make it possible for us to have fundraisers to provide the snacks.
We will be selling these t shirts to raise money to start our non-profit. We have a goal to sell 250 of these t-shirts. We would love for you to share this post!! Every week for a month will be doing a drawing for a free t-shirt. *****To be entered into the drawing all you have to do is share this post!! **** (one entry per person)
T-shirt- $20 each sizes- XS-4XL Tank-$20 each sizes- XS-2XL Shipping will be extra. We will be doing a pre order this round. To place an order please send me a message with your sizes and I can send you an invoice.

Update on Addy: Addy was able to come home this afternoon. She is feeling some better. Shortly after she got home she lost another tooth!! Looks like the tooth fairy will be visiting tonight. We are hoping the virus doesn't continue to spread. Thank you all for praying for Addy. We appreciate it so very much! ... See MoreSee Less
Monday we took Addy to the ER for fever and not being able to keep any food or drink in her. Her heart rate and blood pressure were pretty elevated so they kept her. Because of her Diabetes Insipidus and also her narrowing vessels they wanted to keep a close watch on her. She does have a virus so they are still trying to keep her hydrated. She had an IV to go bad yesterday and they had to replace it. She gets very anxious about this but did so very well. She is one tough cookie! Please pray that she will start to feel better soon and be able to hydrated on her own. As of right now I am unsure when she will get to go home. She is staying busy playing Go Fish, and crafting when she feels up to it! ☺ Thank you all for your continued prayers, and checking in on her. We appreciate it so very much!! ... See MoreSee Less
Yesterday we spent the day at the hospital for a few doctor visits and an EEG. She got to spend a lot of time with some of her favorite people. I love the picture of Addy sitting at the desk with the nurses. She enjoys being with them so very much. Being at the clinic has been a HUGE part of her life. This place and the people there is comfortable to her.
Addy did really well for her EEG. She was excited she got to get her Repunzel hair (what she calls the wires). We hope to have results for this in the next day. Addy has been having some issues the past couple weeks that we are trying to figure out what is causing them. We didn't have any answers after seeing the doctors yesterday. Please pray that we will be able to figure out what is going on with her.
We also made a snack delivery yesterday!! (Sorry I wasn't able to get a picture.) Thank you to Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church for providing the snacks for this delivery. The patients and the families appreciate this so very much!! We will be announcing a t-shirt fundraiser very soon. This will be to find snacks at he clinic and also assist in getting our non profit. We are working on a few last minute details on the shirts and will be sharing them very soon!! Be on the look out for this!! ... See MoreSee Less
We received the results of Addy's MRI. One of the vessels in Addy's brain is narrowing significantly. When the doctor looked at the scan and saw that the vessel on the scan she immediately looked to see if there had been a stroke but was surprised to see that she had not. This is what has been causing the numbness throughout her left side, the headaches and cognitive changes. The narrowing vessel is caused from the radiation she had to the brain. There is nothing they can do to reverse this narrowing. The doctor spoke with us on signs of stroke to be sure that we are able to catch it when and if it happens. We will continue to scan her every three months or sooner if something comes up before then. Please pray for us as we try to digest this. I think the hardest part about this is not knowing when this could happen and that there is nothing they can do for it. I am so thankful that I have a God that will comfort and give us Grace to go through this. I do not know how we would have made it this far with out Him. Thank you all for praying for Addy. We appreciate your prayers very much. ... See MoreSee Less
We were up bright and early this morning to come in for Addy's MRI. She enjoyed seeing some of her favorite people and getting her warm blanket, another favorite of hers! They just took her back and she should be back there for about 2 hours. We have a full day of appointments after she is finished. Please pray that all goes well with her MRI. ... See MoreSee Less
We went to clinic today to get Addy's every three month shot and to make a snack delivery. We were able to fill the clinic shelves with a lot of yummy snacks today thanks to YOUR generous donations!! We are running low on potato chips and that is a favorite at the clinic. If you would like to help out by adding some individually wrapped potato chips to the snack supply this month please contact me. I know a lot of kiddos that would be so grateful to have chips for their snack while at the clinic!!
Addy will have her MRI bright and early next Tuesday morning along with several doctors appointments that day. Please pray that everything will go well and that she will not be anxious about it. Addy has been struggling the past couple weeks with several issues that we have been trying to address with the doctors. We are hoping and pray for good results from this MRI. Thank you all for your continued support and prayers for Addy and our family. ... See MoreSee Less
~MRI Results~ We went for our results of Addy's MRI this week and while we were at the hospital Kelly Clarkson was doing a Christmas concert on the stage. Addy enjoyed meeting her and getting to chat with her for a little while. Such a nice surprise!!
Addy's MRI showed that everything was stable. We are so thankful for these results. Addy has been struggling with severe headache and vision changes that are more than likely delayed radiation effects. She has vasculopathy of the brain which causes some of these symptoms as well. We had taken a break from therapy since our deductible was starting over the first of November but after seeing oncology they want her to start back for physical and occupational therapy to strengthen her left side that has started to get weak again. Addy is really struggling. She has been through a lot of trauma to her brain and in her life that is not something an 8 year old knows how to mentally handle. I think that even as an adult this would be difficult to handle. Please pray for Addy. Also pray for us as her parents that we can learn how to best help her and give her what she needs. Thank you all for your continued prayers and love that you have shown Addy and our family. ... See MoreSee Less
"This day just keeps getting better !!" Addy's response when she found out her favorite girl was going to be her doctor today. We are so thankful for what Dr. Z means to Addy and our family. We were able to deliver snacks today at the clinic. Thank you to the W.E.E. program at First Baptist Church Hendersonville for holding a snack drive during the month of December. We delivered the first week worth of snacks today. So thankful for so many people willing to help us to provide snacks for the patients and their families at the oncology clinic. The nurses and doctors are always so grateful when we bring snacks. We could not make this happen with out YOUR support. Thank you!!
Thank you all for your prayers for our sweet girl today. She did very well for her scan. We will know results Tuesday of next week. ... See MoreSee Less
We are in the clinic this morning getting Addy's IV in before we take her to get ready for her MRI. Addy was pretty nervous about getting her IV placed but she did great. We got word that her favorite girl is going to be her anesthesiologist! That absolutely made her day! Her MRI starts at 12 and should be in there for a couple hours. ... See MoreSee Less
First of all I would like to ask you all to sincerely pray for our sweet friend Kaydyn that we love so very much. He suffered a stroke last Sunday and is still intubated. Kaydyn and Addy became friends shortly she was diagnosed. He would always bring her pink gum balls every time we were at the clinic together. I can't imagine what they are going through. Please pray for him and his Nana. They are both very special to us.
Addy had an eye doctor appointment today. Addy has been struggling with severe headaches and decreased vision for the past few weeks. We have been to neurology and have changed some of her meds hoping it would help her headaches but haven't seen a change. She has a scan coming up on December 8th. Hoping to be able to have answers from that. Please pray that we will be able to find something that will give her relief from the headaches and that MRI and MRA are stable. Thank you all for your continued prayers for Addy. Love and blessings, The Clark Family. ... See MoreSee Less
Today we visited the middle school and high school where I attended and graduated. They invited Addy to come be a special guest for their Pink Out events for today. All school levels collected snacks for the Vanderbilt Children's Oncology Clinic. I can not even begin to describe what this day has meant to me. I am so very humbled by the generosity of so many teachers, students, and the people in this community. I have got a blessing from the prayers that have been prayed for the children and their families that will be eating these snacks in the clinic. We spent time with a teacher that has also been affected by cancer and is now cancer free! Her and Addy became friends really quick. Thankful for this time to get to spend with her. Addy also participated in the Kiss the Pig ceremony. She KISSED A PIG !!! TWICE!! Love to listen to her talk about this day and tell people how amazing it is that "we picked up so many snacks for the clinic and all my friends are going to be so happy! And I got to kiss a pig!!" I am just overwhelmed by this day and all that it has meant to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. ... See MoreSee Less
We went to clinic today to get results of Addy's MRI. While we were there we saw our friend Kaydyn ! They were so glad to see each other. Love how much these two care about each other.
The doctor read the scan and said that her tumors were stable, but since her last scan there has been increased narrowing in the main arteries in her brain caused from radiation. This is what is causing her symptoms she has been having. Several of her doctors will meet this week to discuss her case. There is not much they are able to do for this but they will be weighing the options in this meeting. The narrowing puts Addy at high risk for having a stroke. We will be increasing her therapy in hopes to help the weakness on her left side caused by this. Please pray that her team of doctors will be able to come up with a plan for Addy. Thank you all for your prayers we appreciate them more than we are able to express. Love, The Clark Family. ... See MoreSee Less
Addy's MRI was moved up to today instead of Monday. They just took her back she will be back there for a couple hours. She was greeted by her favorite people and even had Dr. Zeigler (her favorite girl) to walk her back even though she wasn't the anesthesiologist for imaging! Thank you all for praying. We appreciate your prayers so much ! ... See MoreSee Less

We had to go to the clinic today to have a couple of tests ran since Addy has been having some symptoms that were concerning. They ran some tests to check her shunt and it is working well. We will know more when she has her sedated MRI on the 12th. Praying that the symptoms won't linger or worsen and her scan will be stable. When we got to the clinic Miss Janet brought Addy a WARM blanket!! She said "This is the best day ever!!" Thank you to a sweet family that we have come to love that donated a blanket warmer to the clinic in memory of their daughter Hailey. We will always think of her every time we get one of those warm blankets. ❤️❤️The warm blankets are going to make so many kids days. ... See MoreSee Less
Sorry for the lack of posts here lately. We have been enjoying our summer and gearing up for school to start next week. Addy has been doing well physically and has been reaching a lot of her therapy goals. Yesterday we went to see her oncologist and endocrinology doctors. The oncologist loved to see how good Addy was getting around. We have really been struggling with her appetite. She has been diagnosed with something called hypothalamus obesity. When there is damage to the hypothalamus, the communication between the stomach and the brain goes haywire, causing a constant feeing of hunger. This has been really hard on us. I can't imagine what she feels all the time. Please pray for us as we are learning to deal with this. We have to control what she eats so she is not gaining a lot of weight that will make her not be able to be as physical as she is now. We are still trying to get her sodium under control. She will start a nightly shot soon. Hoping this will help control her sodium levels better.
I want to share something with you all that Addy was so proud of today. She has a big goal of climbing to the top of the rock wall and ringing the bell at therapy. Today she went to the first level and was sooo excited !! She is going to be working really hard over the next several weeks to make it to the top. I will be sure and share that moment with you all!
Her next MRI and MRA are scheduled for September 12th. Thank you all for your continued prayers. We appreciate them so much. Love and blessings, The Clark Family. ... See MoreSee Less
We made a trip to the clinic today for a blood draw and also to make a snack delivery !! From all the steroids she has been on it has really done a number on her veins. We should get results tomorrow night.
